■ Mindfully monetizing content distribution as an incentive to writing
I have a hypothesis, that in the same way that Making part of your notes public brings clarity to the note taking process, mindfully monetizing content distribution could provide a powerful incentive for the writing process. Key considerations:
- I wouldn’t want to set myself up to be obligated to product a higher volume of content
- I wouldn’t want to set myself up to create content specific to subscribers
- However, some form of monetization of my content creation and distribution process would be helpful
- For a start, there are some costs and there are paid tools I utilize to power my content creation and distribution
- I don’t want to feel limited by my costs here, as spending more could help me gain more out of the work I am putting in
- Establishing a new income stream is an appealing thought, and it seem very much within the realm of possibility with my audience and the level of output I have already
- Therefore, in the same way that Zettelkasten was a slight shift in my note taking process in order to get much more out of it; I believe there could be a slight shift in my writing and distribution process in order to monetize it
- Succeeding in monetizing would likely also correlate with succeeding in growing my audience at a higher pace, gaining a powerful level of distribution, community, feedback, and enhancing of my writing and thoughts
